We recently stayed at the woraburi and had an unpleasant incident with the tour guide based at the lobby (Mr Chai). He promised a limousine ride for a 2 hour canal tour which included 3 temple visits. The cost was 750baht per person, and it was to include the drive to the boat, the 2 hr ride and the entrance fees to the 3 temples. What we got was a ride in an old beat up jeep with NO AIRCONDITIONING, 1 temple visit (Entrance Fee only 20Baht)and he even tried to get 60 baht more for some bread to feed fish at a temple along the way. The other 2 temple visits was him pointing them out to us as the boat slowed down, we never got to get down. The so called canal tour was certainly less than 2 hours, cheated there too, as he said 2 hours.Be careful what you book...we learned the hard way.
The staff at hotel average, not too friendly.
Be careful with your breakfast coupons, remember who you give it to, as on one occasion I had already given to a waiter, only to be asked by another waitress for it as I was filling my plate, and she insisted I had to go to the front desk, luckily another staff remembered seeing me handing the coupons to her colleague and I was saved the inconvenience of settling that at the front desk!
No coffee/tea in room.

Location wise, it is not as convenience as they claimed. We need to walk in a narrow street with pungent drain smell for 15 minutes before reaching Nana station. None of the taxi drivers knows this hotel. So, you have to quote Sukhumvit Soi 4 instead of the hotel name.
The hotel looks like a brothel indeed; they sell condoms and cigarettes in the room for the guest's convenience. We paid USD 45 per night for a superior room but it looks no different from the standard room. The room is full of cigarette smell; house keeping staffs did not change the bed sheet for the entire duration, we could see the same stains on the bed sheet from the day we check-in thru the day we check-out. Moreover, there is no privacy at all in this hotel; the bathroom window is facing the corridor which passer-by could hear everything loud and clear from your bathroom. The bathroom was very dirty as we could see some brown stains on the WC as well as the bathtub. Don't use the slipper provided by the hotel unless you don't mind to have smelly feet.
The preparation and display of breakfast were very unhygienic and limited choices available. The fruits taste a bit weird (may be due to overripe), sausages and hams were tasteless. How can they soak the sausages and ham in the hot water
On the second night at 3am in the morning, we heard some loud noise from 3 doors away; a prostitute came out of the room shouting at an Englishman demanded for 1000 baht. The argument took around an hour to settle. Since we couldn't sleep in that night, we had to wake up late the next morning. However, when we arrived at the restaurant at 10am in the morning, there were no foods left except for some juices and a few slides of bread. We requested the cook to replenish but they refuse to do it by giving us an excuse that it is closing. Come on!!!...Didn't he see in the breakfast voucher, it is clearly written breakfast started from 6.30am to 10.30am
If you intend to have a late check-out, this is not the hotel for you. They will charge you 500 baht if you checkout after 1pm.
Overall, this is not the hotel for guests with family or couple. If you are looking for hotels with the same budget in Sukhumvit area, try Royal Benja Hotel, Manhattan or Swiss Park Hotel.

I found the Woraburi to be a great value for the money. I am usually more of a budget/guesthouse traveler, and am in Bangkok once or twice a year but wanted something nicer since I was having some dental work done, and wanted a little more comfort. Room service, a pool, an in-room phone, these are the extras I was paying for.
I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very helpful, and my room was big and clean. There was even an actual bathtub, a rarity in Thai hotels. With a rooftop pool for the hot Bangkok afternoons, and a quick free tuk-tuk up to the main road to shopping and the SkyTrain, it made the ideal location for my Bangkok business. There is 24-hour room service, and the breakfast buffet was perfectly adequate. I have no complaints whatsoever about the Woraburi, and will stay there again.
